Wanderlust - Takko Lacquer

How has your weekend been (or is it still going for those of you in the rest of the world)? I have had such a lovely day today, painted my nails, been to the movies, had amazing campari and orange sorbet and now watching Formula 1, Suzuka Grand Prix. That's pretty much a perfect day in my book. Anywho, I've got an absolutely gorgeous polish to show you today, sent to me by Sheryl from Takko Lacquer. This is 'Wanderlust'...

This polish is quite simply breath-taking. As soon as it arrived I was all ooohhh and aahhh just looking at the bottle. I put it on and it dried slightly matte. Skip forward to top coating time... It was like magic how the shimmer suddenly appeared with the shine of the top coat!

The shimmer in 'Wanderlust' is certainly not shy. It's incredibly prominent even in lower lighting. The shimmer is so complimentary to the slightly dusty lavender colour.

Speaking of the shimmer in 'Wanderlust', it sometimes appeared blue, as in this photo...

... and at times could appear quite green-leaning teal. This is one of those polishes that you really have to see in real life to fully appreciate.

On to the formula... 'Wanderlust' is surprisingly opaque, which was unexpected for me, considering how well the shimmer comes through. I needed only two coats for full opacity, though I have to admit I have three on most of these fingers as my left hand decided not to play nicely in the polishing of them and I had to fix the cuticle area with the third coat! 'Wanderlust' is fairly thick and for the last coat I actually added just a couple of drops of thinner (definitely not a biggie though).

I just have to take a quick second to say that the customer service that Sheryl provides is genuinely fantastic. I had a minor problem with a previous order and I just emailed her to let her know. She replied quickly and was so lovely about it and the problem was quickly rectified. I really appreciate this level of service and it makes this brand just that much more appealing.

Takko Lacquer is available from Sheryl's Etsy store. All the polishes are vegan, 3-free and not tested on animals. Check out Takko Lacquer blog for updates on restocks etc.

  1. I'm a takko lacquer whore!!! I think Sheryl uses the blue-green colour shifting pigment for the shimmer in her polishes and that's why it appears different at various angles. I agree that her customer service is amazing! I'm just waiting for her to come out with a new collection so I can buy more!!! Do you have the nude one? It's the only one I'm missing because I didn't think it compliment my skintone so i'd love to see how it looks on you

    1. I don't have it... I'm missing a few but I think I'm going to have to make the leap because I've been nothing but happy-as-Larry with the ones I have. If you look on her blog, she has a new collection coming up soon!!! I can't wait to see it. I'm sure it will be gorgeous too. My wallet is currently cowering in the corner at the thought of it ;)

    1. Aw thanks Mimi. I think this was one of the easiest polishes I've ever photographed, the shimmer is just that obvious! Yea they are a bit pricey, but to be honest not much more than a lot of the glitters etc on llarowe and SO pretty :)

    2. I rarely buy those either, too pricey for me! ^_^ That's one by product of having access to drugstore polishes, I find it hard to fork over more dollars for indies, even though some of them are absolutely amazing!

    3. Yea I have to be honest, every time I buy one of these I think to myself that I spend $10 more than that on an OPI so I'd much rather buy the indies (hence my rather large indie stash these days) :D
